Just to let you know where I am...
Early Wednesday morning I jumped out of bed with a bad leg cramp, my leg gave way and I ended up in a "Screaming heap" on the floor.
Long story short.... I have a compact fracture of the "L2" = "Broken back". No surgery is required but I am bed ridden (in hopsital) and in terrible pain. I should be allowed out of bed and to start moving in a few days, but will probably be in hospital for another week!!
I have been told by the doctor it will be 4 weeks until I am back to normal..... whatever "normal" is !!
I miss you all terribly and I shal look forward to seeing what you have all been up to and and can't wait to get back to work on the "Petite Maison".
David has relayed some e-mails onto me from: Mercedes; Christel and Rosanne and of course it is David and Kendall who are doing this post. XX

My goodness, Linda...who would have thought something like this could so easily happen. Rest and speedy recovery to you!
Tabitha
Oh, my, Linda. I pray for a very speedy recovery for you. Don't overdo when you are allowed to go home. Allow your back to rest and heal.
Thinking of you.
Hugs,
Marsha
Oh Linda...that's bloody awful for you! There's nothing to compare with the pain you get with bsck injuries, especially when the sciatic nerve in your leg's involved. I know only too well what you're going through....I've been there & after 6 months of being bedridden & then hobbling slowly with a stick, my spine fused itself. Take care, DO as you're told & lie flat as much as possible. Mini hugs, Linda

So sorry to hear of your injury. That is such a horrid accident. I am so glad the mending does not require any extreme measures such as surgery.
I guess it is now our duty to keep you very amused during your recovery.
Linda,I hope that you recover soon.Take care
I send you a lot of hugs and good vibrations for you.
I miss you to much.
Hugs from Spain
Damn Linda, so very sorry to hear of your accident. Spinal injuries are almost the scariest and most painful injury you can sustain. You be good and do exactly what the doctors say. Best wishes and vibes going your way from the wife of someone with a spinal cord injury.
Oh Linda, my goodness, I am shocked! I am so, so sorry about your injury! Please take care of yourself. You must take it slow. I am sending you my thoughts and prayers.
Linda, take it slow and easy. These injuries can be very painful, as you found out.
Petit Maison and all your admirers will be there when you get home.
Sophia
That's incredibly bad luck Linda, take care and REST UP! As Sophia rightly points out, Petit Maison and all of us will be here when you are recovered enough to feel like dabbling in your mini world again. Like most mum's you are probably used to being the care giver, not on the receiving end, but this is definately the time to lie back and let the TLC flow your way. All the best, Norma
Thats terrible news, Linda. Wishing you a speedy recovery and hope the pain eases quickly. Will miss your posts, but will look forward to hearing that you are recovering well and back blogging.
Sending lots of warm wishes, Julia & Hywel

Hello Linda, I hope my message will reach you ..
This summer my husband fell off a ladder and fractured, but it would be better to say pulped the L2 ... was terrible for us because we were afraid that he is paralyzed! was in hospital for a month, it worked, now has a prosthesis in the spine, has suffered much the stillness, but if you can console is now well ..
is bringing a tutor to keep a straight back, but soon will be back to work!
courage, a little patience and you will come back as well and more than before!
I embrace you, Caterina
Oh Linda, it sounds awful, and I hope they can offer you some pain relief. How frustrating to have enforced bedrest just from getting out of bed with leg cramp! I do hope you get better soon. Best wishes
DollMum
Hi Linda, I'm so sorry to hear about your fall! Take good care of yourself, a broken back is quite an injury, and that from a simple fall! My husband had a similar injury 5 years ago, but we had a major car accident for causing that. So I know about that pain and I hope you soon will feel better, but take your time, you'll need it!
Good luck,
Marit
Linda, What a terrible way to start the day! I hope that you have a very speedy recovery. I love your blog and will look forward to the day when you are home and posting!!......Patty
Wishing you a very speedy recovery Linda. So sorry to hear of your injury. Sending you big gentle hugs..xxx
Dear Linda, I was shocked to learn that you are in hospital! Take heart! I have witnessed such pain when two of my friends had to go to hospital with similar back problems. They are doing well now! your friends will be waiting anxiously for your return. My very best to you. TerryX
I was so sorry to read about what happened to you. I hope it won't be too long before you are back to your usual self. You must be looking forward to getting home.
As we say in French I wish you "bon courage".
With all my best wishes for a quick recovery.
Geneviève
Glad to know your okay. Take care of the leg.
I always have leg cramps especially when the weather is so cold. I hope your leg is fine now.
Linda,
I'm a big fan of your blog. Your dollhouse is such a beauty. I think I've looked at every photo you've posted here at least three times!
I hope that this down time will be a time to rest and recover, and that you will be healed and refreshed in body and spirit.
mini hugs,
Kate in California
Hi Linda, I am sorry to hear of your misfortune.. I went to an Oesteopath in Jan this year and the next day had no feeling in my left leg as she had ruptured my disc and the spinal fluid leaked.. I ended up having spinal surgery in June and was in terrible pain. I was home for 3 months and am just starting to return to normal. The reason I am telling you this is so you do everything the specialists tell you to do and look after yourself...we look forward to the continuation of the Petite Maison attic!! I will say a little prayer for you... Lorella
Sorry to hear that Linda, we wish you all the best, take care!
Linda:

Oooooo, Linda, I'm so sorry. I've jumped out of bed with leg cramps so many times ~ hurting your back is adding insult to injury. I hope you will recover quickly and that you will soon be pain free.
Probably your mind will be working overtime during your "down-time" thinking of more wonderful things for your gorgeous "Petite Maison".
Bon courage.
