Entrance....

This is a more recent photo of the entrance. The items on the centre table will not remain, I need a large vase of beautiful pink roses!!! The small t-pot and sugar bowl I bought in London from Christen Baybar, (I think they are the most expensive miniature items I have bought!!!) The pink floral urn and small vase are hand made here in Tasmania.....I love her work!! The pink vase and bowl are from England. I leave these 'out' until I find a place for them in the house, I think they are too pretty to put away!

This corner cupboard is made from a kit, I have filled it will hand made figurines.....made here.

I don't know if this photo will show it, but instead of glass in the doors I used tuille to (I hope) look as though it has chicken wire.

The wall sconces are a favorite of mine, I have used them in several rooms.

This picture shows my little couch, I made this from a kit, the shopping bag hanging on the door handle was bought in Paris.

The doll is again hand made here in Tasmania.

The French shopping basket was some thing I just had to have, once again, made here in Tasmania, I have filled it with market shopping and my favorite magazine.

This is my little side table, it holds the days mail and some favorite (Paris) post cards.

The 'bust' is hand made by a lady here in Tasmania, this room features a lot of her lovely work.

The plant, I'm sorry to say is my first attempt at flower making....can only get better!!

My Little Entrance Hall....

This is the first room that I finished, I am happy with the result......

I have been going through photos looking for shots of the interior of the house......but I thought I would post these as a little 'teaser' until I find what I'm after!!
Both of these photos are looking in through the front window to a little entance area....what more can I tell you?......I'll find photos soon and pics of how I went about the work involved!

Repetto....

You will find out very soon on this blog that I LOVE ....chandeliers!!! This one I found in Paris .....of course! It's in a most devine shop called "Repetto", and if you go there for no other reason than to see the most beautiful, romantic window display! (if you look very closely...in the back of the photo you will see row upon row of ballet shoes)Repetto. 22, rue de la Paix,75002 Paris......but if this is not your "cup-of-tea", toddle off to: 9, rue de la Paix, where you will find "Tiffany & Co"....

Inspiration....

It is buildings such as this in Paris that are my inspiration! I love the heavy ornate corbels, the over window detail, the balcony with beautiful iron work, the way the bottom of the building has the different detail to that of the top and of course the lovely french windows!!!
Once I decided on what I wanted, the next job was to work-out how to go about achieving this effect. Corbels and over window detail I bought while in England, french windows in actual fact came from Paris....ofcourse..., balconies I made my self as well as the detail on the bottom of the house. The iron work...I am sad to say is plastic, but once it received iron work paint, with a little bit of aging and of course rust, I was pleased with the results.
