Le grand salon....

This is the largest room in the petite maison and I have been working on it for quite some time!! I still have a lot of work to do before I am happy enough to show it to you in full, but I though I would just share a small section with you for now. Once again the walls are all panelled, this time I used decorative insets for a little more 'drama'....As before, these were all drawn to graph paper before any work was started.
You may have also noticed my parquet flooring, for this I used a 17th century French design I found in a magazine....this was sooooo time consuming to make....as once I found what type of flooring I wanted, I then had to work out how to go about making it. I made it using 1/32" x 1/4" basswood strips, I lost count of how many strips I have actually used....probably just as well!!
I have several pieces of furniture I want to 're-do', and a few pieces still remain to be bought but all in all the room is coming together, I hope you enjoy this 'snippet'.

It's coming along so beautifully. So hard to fathom that it is miniature. There's not a clue in the photographs! So much fun to see your progress!
