......when we went to Aix-en Provence we travelled by the "fast" train, aprox 3 hours from Paris, plus a short bus ride. We stayed at Hotel Augustins, it was very nice and in a fabulous location ..... very central. Just a 'stones throw' from the hotel was "La Caleche" where we had a most enjoyable lunch sitting in the sun under bright red umbrellas....one of those really beautiful days!! We spent the afternoon wandering around the back streets....I have had several visits to 'Aix' and each time I love it more and more....
But it is probably best to let the pictures of the pretty city talk for themselves....

Beautiful Pictures...
Son maravillosas las fotos,muy tipicas.
Manon, I have had 3 trips to Provence, 2004, 2006, and this last time was lundi, 16 jui 2008...I love it there!!!
I love it to Linda - one of my favourite towns in this region, xv.
Do you want to know a funny thing? we have been several times in Provence but never at Aix. Last time we were there we didn't manage to get to the center and we kept swirling in the neighbouring roads. We got annoied of it and gave it up. There was a huge traffic and we thought better to run far from it.From there we reached Luberon region, a real must see.
Your photos are incredible! I have noted the region and hotel.
Beautiful, just beautiful! I'm keeping a notebook for notable places to visit for when my mom and I go in 2011 . . . she'll be amazed at my knowledge of France! LOL! Thanks again, Linda, for sharing the beautiful sites of France with us! I'm longing to go!
Thanks for sharing this! My next trip to France is this region. I am off to check out this hotel now!
Also, thanks for the time frame from Paris~

Beautiful photos.
Isn't the TGV fantastic.
There is a direct train now from near my home town in England straight through to Paris...I'd love to try it when I get back to England to visit next.
I remember my first trip on the 'Euro Star'....my first trip to France...., we emerged through the tunnel in to France, a glass of wine in hand (to celebrate the moment) but the joke was that they were serving Australian wine!!! It is a wonderful way to travel!
Love the shutters, wrought iron etc, etc, all so lovely!!

Lovely pictures. I've spent so much time in France during vacations...We spent six weeks in Nice one summer where my father worked as part of a University exchange. Great memories.
I see you ordered the wine bottles! Aren't they lovely?!
Hi Linda-
I was fortunate to visit Aix back in 2004. Enjoyed and savored every moment I had which lasted two days. Would love to be back though!
Thanks for sharing those great looking photos!

I just have to tell you ~ I discovered your blog today and have been entranced for over an hour! What amazing work you do! I have a dream of owning and furnishing a doll house - one that I hope to act on soon! I most likely will buy a kit - you have set the bar so high with your incredible work! Thanks for the inspiration!
Me again...just linked your blog to my post today with an award. It's totally optional if you want to pass it on. I just wanted others to discover how fantastic your work is!
