At the Garden Gates....

I just love this 'petite maison'.....it is situated at the main gates to "Jardin de Bagatelle". I don't know much about it, except for the fact it is so WONDERFUL!! Look at the detail of those beautiful windows... aren't they devine!!!!
Isn't this just adorable???......

It is only quite tiny.....but I was told (by an Italian gentleman speaking French to some-one...me....who could only understand about every 5th word) that it is actually a private home!!!

....this detail over the door is fabulous.....I just love it all!!!!

I must say that I am well know for 'stamping my foot' when I want something.....I did do a little bit of 'stamping' when I saw this, but "my David" knew that he was safe with this one...!!!
p.s...if any-one has any information about this wonderful little 'chateau' I would love to hear it!!!

All of a sudden the job of gatekeeper sounds very appealing!

This is so charming and beautiful. I wonder what it looks like inside? The French make every little detail beautiful. No opportunity goes to waste to make something extraordinary.

Oh my God, this is in Paris?!!
Shame on me, I had no idea, thought it was closer to Versailles...
Now we have to go there soon and would be happy to send you a postcard from there!

Linda,
Ohhhh, your blog is so lovely! And this post today makes me wish we had that kind of architecture here in the U.S.! Your bedroom for the girls looks so beautiful, and I just love the fireplace mantles. Where do you find them??? I would like a mantle like this in my house one day! Oh, and merci for sharing my blog with your friends!

I'm afraid I've only found lots of news about la Folie d'Artois, which is the actual Chateau de Bagatelle. It's a pity not to know anything else. Anyway think how much inconvenience to have your own house shooted every day by ourists if you lived there ;o)) I'm joking of course.

Thanks Rosanna, It is a shame not to know more......There is an unfortunate thing about this house and that is it sits behind the iron fence that faces the main car park...and it would be terribly 'spooky' at night!! But, it's still gorgeous!!!!
