Christmas Stockings....

While I am on a 'needle work' theme and christmas is fast aproaching, I thought I would share with you my family's christmas stockings......yes, 'real size'. These I have made over several years and one for each of us....ofcourse!
~This is mine, it is the very first one I made. I have loved these patterns for years but never thought I had 'it' in me to be able to make one, little else to make four!!! ....but as you can see, I did!
~This is David's.....I loved the work shop theme for a man....every man loves his 'shed'! Note the little doll house!
~Next is Kendall's....I love all the 'untidyness' of this one....
~Last (but not least) is Natalie's.....a sweet little girls room also featuring a doll house!
I always "yabber" on about 'detail' & it is the detail of these stockings that I love so much....each one took me aprox. one year of 'spare-time' to make.....
For all those wonderful people who continue to inquire after my health.....I thank you so very much....I am improving with each day....(although some days I feel like the 'Tin Man' from the 'Wizard of Oz") I am starting to feel like my oldself, but with a few limitations, but well on the road to recovery.
Thank you x

I am in awe of your needlework Linda, so incredibly beautiful. My mother always impressed on me that the mark of a real needlewoman was that the back was as neat as the front, and I just know that this will be the case with these fabulous creations. I'm afraid I always failed the test ...

Great to have good news on the health front :)

Wow! Your stockings are beautiful and will always be special, every Christmas to come. I clicked on the photos to make them large and was amazed at the amount of stitches you did but that is why the pictures are so datailed. I can understand why they took so long to make.

They are so beautifully made and something for them all to cherish. I have just got ours out. I made a cross stitch one for Jake and Emily and Lola, so they start at 17 years old now for the 1st one made!! Then when we had the other 2 children I still havnt had time to sit and stitch 2 more, so I know Id better do it before they get much older as they will feel left out and moan at me if I dont do the same for them as the other 3!!! Simply beautiful! I admire those who have not only the skill to do this kind of fussy needlework, but also the patience. I like Debbie's idea of reducing the patterns and making them on silk gauze for the dollhouse. ;-)

Sounds like fun,eh?

These are beautiful. When I had time years ago I did some cross-stitching. So I realize the time and effort and love you put into each one. Well done.
