Aubusson Rugs....

The New Year has started with me making Aubusson Rugs for the 'petite maison'. I am very happy with the effect I have achieved. I have had several designs I have been keeping for years & I now have the opportunity to use them.

....this shows you a little more detail....

....there are other designs I have, it was a tough choice as to which one to use....!

I think it certainly added that.... 'je ne sais quois'....to the petite maison.
I have also made rugs for the bedrooms, the dressing room & the entrance hall....I shall post photos of these at a later date....I guess this means I am a little closer to the completion of my little house!!
Please let me know that you think of them, my camera is my main 'critique' & some times I think I see only what I want to see....!

Are they printies on canvas or cloth? I like the one with the red. It goes very well with the furniture.

Bonjour Linda,
Once again, perfection! I've always been in love with Aubusson rugs, they do add just the right touch!
Hope you are still feeling better each day!

Good Morning, Thank you for sharing your work. I look forward to watching your progress and hope to unpack my mini folie very soon.
I prefer the first photograph, the subtle tones of the rug compliment the surroundings. Hope you will be able to resolve the narrow white border or perhaps it is the thickness of the rug. Could you tea dye the edge if you could not trim it.

....the 'offending' white line will be 'chalked'....just didn't have a chance to get to the art supplies shop...guess I didn't think any one would notice...now that it has been pointed-out it is all I see...LOL!!!

Your rugs are really stunning. Like everybody I wonder how you made them.
I like all of them but I prefer the first one, it goes very well with your furniture. I find that with the second one you see the red too much therefore you see less the furniture, I hope you see what I mean.

These are lovely, printing the Aubussons worked really well. I especially like the blue one, although that one may look cold in your 'salon'.
Using chalk for getting rid of the white edges is a good idea, I never would have thought of that. I usually grab my paints for anything that needs colour, but I'll be digging out my chalks now! Thanks for the tip!

Lovely and I love Aubusson carpets. The one I love best is the red one. I think that your white furniture would stand up more on it and have more shine.I shall ask you how to print on canvas, the results are so good. Rosanna

What a stunning work, I absulutely prefer the 1 picture. That dusty pale look is beautiful.

Do you know where to find DIY on how to print carpets? Or maybe you´ll reveal the "secret"...

Happy New Year Linda.

I like the first carpet pictured.

I especially like how the red Aubusson makes the items in the room "pop" into focus. I don't know how it looks in real life but that is what it does in the photograph. They are both gorgeous and they do add that 'special something' to the room.

I was running through my spam folder today and noticed that your recent comment on my blog was sent there and it was never published with my Romantic Holiday Repose post. I don't know why this has happened, but I want to thank you for your visit!
Bonne Année!

Hello Linda, I see you have taken the energy and I am very happy for you!
the carpets are all fantastic, I would love to try to make one, if you tell me how you do!
of the three, I prefer the blue carpet, because it seems that harmonizes better with the upholstery and the seats in rows ... the red is too bright, and instead the first is too off ...
try a picture with the blue and see what it's like ...
PS Come see my blog, please? I did my first Christmas scene, I want to know what you think!
goodbye and good day!

They're all beautiful, Linda! The second one looks most dramatic in the photos you showed us, but I love them all. I'm with everyone else, how did you make them? Are they printed or stitched? Either way, they're fabulous!

I personally love the pink. However I think the blue would set your white furniture off also just with a different feel to it... Is there any chance of your telling how you make these carpets?

This is absolutely outstanding. I could never image achieving such details in something so miniature.
