"La Petite Maison"....part 5.

....these are the last of the photos I have to show you of the 'petite maison'. This is the result of 5 years of lots & lots of work, some times easy, some times so frustrationg, but always enjoyable!!
What is my next project you have been asking, well as yet I am not totally sure, but I do know that there definitely will be one. I adore miniatures and blogging about them too much for there not to be.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing the 'petite maison' evolve, it has been made all the more enjoyable for me having had it to share it with you all. I look forward to your final comments....please make them nice...(lol!)...while it is wonderful to have finally finshed....it is also a little.....sad! Linda x

Awww... it's not an ending, but a new beginning! Rejoice in your accomplishments. Five years, wow!

I hope that you will compile a list of info as so many have asked for, you have a done a wonderful job of accumulating the best from the best and a book is a fabulous idea, as well. To acknowledge all of the contributions in one place would be wonderful for the people that have contributed.

I'm sure more projects are in your future with your expertise. :)

Sending you my best wishes. :)

Dear Linda,
Truly lovely. The exterior details are so realistic and the interiors only compliment the fantasy.
Where will I go to each morning now that you are going to be "thinking" about your new project!
You are my first stop after the BBC.

The ending of a project is bittersweet Linda but at the same time the blank canvas of the future is so exciting. Maybe a miniature French country home.....a Mas or a Bastide perhaps?....xv

For the first time I realize that there is only one flight of stairs in the house... and I see the turtle doves under the roof and a naughty pidgeon over the door... so many lovely details...so much to see. These are the last pictures of the Petite Maison but you are not leaving us orphan, aren't you? Thank you very much for sharing your labour of love and be proud of yourselves. Rosanna

What a beautiful beautiful job you have made of this house. And to think that it all comes from your own head - no basic kit to guide you, just your love of all things French. Having spent a lot of time in France I think you have captured the essence perfectly.

I have so enjoyed looking at your 'Petite Folie' and thank you for sharing it.

However, I am also looking forward to seeing your next project....which I think may not be too far behind!!!

Have a great weekend, best wishes, Carol :)

This house is wonderful! The time you've invested to build it you will get on in years, because this "work of art" will always remain a precious object to show and be passed down to those who deserve a day of it, and it will say "This beautiful house 's Linda has done! "
Every small detail speaks, tells us how much love you put, how much fussiness to make so perfect, so elegant, so lovely, so sweet ....
We stand and watch for hours, and always find something that before we had escaped, a detail, a little detail that always fills us with wonder!
Linda thanks for sharing your love with us ...
This is sad, true, but you have great plans and we are here, in contact with you, waiting to see another masterpiece!
Good job!

PS how are you? You are healed ????? I hope so, yes, have a nice day!

Following the construction and coming to life of La Petite Maison has been a beautiful trip. It inspired and showed me how, with love and patience, a magical creation came to be. Thank you Linda.
I think it's a little sad for us too that it has been completed, but I look forward very much to your next project! Also, a miniature house is never quite finished, you'll admire it, change things around from time to time and also find new little treasures to add to one more place. :)

Linda, you have accomplished what few others have. Your house is truly a collector's item -- museum quality. You should be very proud of it and yourself. I think what I most admire is the floors. I am totally in awe of the fact that you made every one of them by hand.
We will miss following your progress, but we all know you have another project in you and we look forward to sharing the journey.

A little bit sad to see it finished like this! I have so enjoyed lurking along on this splendid adventure. I've been awe-struck, a little intimidated and inferior (LOL!) and a lot inspired. I know what you can do now! My little 10 year old received a dollhouse for Christmas in 2008. It sits in my basement partially built awaiting me to get up the nerve to wire it. I've promised her we will do so during her spring break week after next as we certainly can't afford to travel anywhere this year! I could send it to you and you could wire it!!! LOL!

Thank you for this beautiful journey!

I am loving this, its extrordinary, and thats what I tend to be looking for. Does anyone know if the house is a kit? I prefer houses like this over all and although UK houses are very much like this one, most are front opening and this does not appear to be so. Again I would be interested in know if its a kit?
Currently working on an old Artply Worthington and turning it into a French Chateau. Thanks Deb podell@netin.net

LOVE the Maison! My hubby and I wanted to do one of these together, when we were first married, and we thought we'd wait until kids could "use" it....well...32 years and 5 kids later...the youngest is 17 and NOW we can make one! I know how delicate each one of those pieces are, I think we would have to start with a ""klunky Kid one" first for the grandkids to use...Maybe this is the way I will get to have my PERFECT house! But only in miniature!
Such beauty and artistry and fun! I have found some tiny doll house porcelain dolls that would live in one...I would play with it by myself! LOL
