Grasse in the south of France was another great place that I enjoyed seeing last year. I always love to explore back streets and alley ways, some how they always offer you a far better feel for what the town is really like as opposed to the 'touristy' parts of towns and cities. I adore the ages patena of these buildings, the shutters in urgent need of repair and the cold draughty alley ways that (even on the warmest of days) can give you 'chills'. France really has some thing to offer every one.!! p.s.....sorry about deleting my previous post, I blogged using my iPad and I wasn't 100% happy with the result....!

As we already wrote in a commentary, an old post, with your pictures, we see places already seen with different eyes.
Grasse is a must, for the essences of perfumes, and I think that few tourists, as well as perfumes, have also failed to find enchanting corners like these.

There is an undeniable charm in old and sometimes decaying places which attracts so many of us. Funny thing is when our real houses start showing signs of decay (or even before that) we immediately spring into action with paintbrushes and building materials. Lucky for us this is not done the world over ;)
You take such wonderful photos, Linda! I always enjoy them. It's so wonderful to be able to see all these rare sites through the eyes of your lens. And, yes, that patina is so beautiful and ageless! I would just love to walk through those alleys. Surely they've been there for hundreds of years! Just think of all the books that could be written if only these ancient walls could speak!
Grasse! The city of perfumes!! Iwould love to visit it!
