Jardin du Luxembourg....

As we were on the bus heading for the beautiful "Jardin du Luxembourg" a storm hit Paris, the rain lashed down, many umbrellas were turned inside-out and the gutters over flowed.....not the best of times to visit a garden!!! So a change of plan was made and we enjoyed a lovely lunch while the storm blew its self out.....we emerged from the cafe and everything was once again as it should be. We entered the gardens and they were all but deserted.....apart from us. It was such a treat to be in this wonderful place and have it void of people, so easy to take the photos I wanted and not be interrupted by joggers or school children.....mind you it didn't last for long, but while it did it was a little piece of heaven.

The jardin is beautiful with the colours of autumn. Not the best of times to be in Paris concerning the weather, however autumn has beautiful colours and you will see Paris with its Christmas windowshops.

Good Morning Linda,
Lovely balance in the first photo. Bruce always has a peek at your photos when you post. I can well imagine the colours of the leaves draining into the earth as the season changes from Fall to winter. I always enjoy following. Thankyou.

Hello Linda,
I remember the gardens fondly and can just imagine how incredible it must have been to be alone there. Lovely pictures.

Hi Linda,

What a stroke of good luck! To be in the Luxembourg gardens on your own must have been blissful, a very rare opportunity. Your photos look stunning, at first glance I thought you must have been there very early to get those shots, they are beautiful. I love the Luxembourg gardens, so quintessentially Parisian, I suppose it's all the images we have been exposed to over the years that gives me that idea but it is a wonderful place to spend an hour or two. We will be in Paris early July and its on my list of places to visit.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos and experience! I adore Luxembourg Gardens - rain or shine! It is one of my favourite spots in Paris and the perfect place to just sit and soak up the atmosphere. I'm so happy I found your blog. You certainly have a new follower now. I'd love for you to drop by my blog sometime to see what we do.
