Doorway in Paris....

I love these doors.....I love everything about them!! They are not perfect, infact they are far from perfect.....I remember waiting patiently for a break in the 'foot traffic' so I could take these photos.

Sadly here in Australia most people would not be happy until these doors were given a thick coat of 'full gloss' paint.....but for me, they are perfect as they are.

Miniature News: Work slowly progressing on 'sous le figure'.  I am (still) making shutters, 10 pair in total!!! I hope to have a 'progress photo' for you soon??!

I Love that Timeworn look, too, Linda! Those doors are Gorgeous! The knockers are perfect.... one for each door! Things were so beautifully crafted back then. I look forward to seeing your shop progress!

Hi Linda! I love the way that the French appreciate PATINA and find the beauty in the Imperfect. I enjoy both old and new but given a choice, I think a little old and aged never hurt anybody! :))

Love the doors! I think I took more photos of doors and windows in Paris than anything else!

Hi Linda, I am sure you are right about the thick, glossy paint, we Australian don't feel comfortable with the 'aged' look generally. Everything must be restored to new condition, hehe. Great photos.

Fantastic photos! I'm like you I love doors but when they are not to fresh. When are you going to publish a book with your photos? You know you should.

I love those doors, I would be very sad if someone globbed on some paint because they are time worn..that would be a crime!
