**just a quick post today...ill health has kept me from doing what I love**
We spent a day at Fontainbleau....and of course we explored Chateau de Fontainbleau. Fontainbleau is a short train trip (less than an hour if memory serves me correctly) from Paris, departing from Gare de Lyon.
We arrived to a very chilly (frosty) morning in Fontainbleau, but with blue skies....so exploring was invigorating. We have been here once before (by chance) and we always promised ourselves that one day we would return. Chateau de Fontainbleau is set in 130 acres of parklands and gardens....simply beautiful!!!
If you get to Paris (and have a day spare) treat yourself to a day here....it is well worth it!! **I loved the ghosty figures on the lawn...made entirely from chicken wire**

Oh how Beautiful!!!! I am glad you mentioned the "ghosts"... I would not have been able to figure them out otherwise! I never made it to Fontainbleau, but your pictures make me want to add it to my "someday" list!
I hope you feel better soon! Being sick is no fun... and especially if you can't even work on minis!

I love the photos! The ghosts are really fun. Even better if painted with glow in the dark paint. haha
It's funny you should say that Catherine, as there was electrical cabling on the ground....so perhaps they were illuminated in some way of a night?
I was fascinated by the ghostly shapes in the photo so I am glad you mentioned what they were. They came out fabulously in your photo. Thank you for sharing more lovely photos.

Beautiful, Linda. I went there when I was a child on a school trip. Of course, as a kid it didn't really resonate at the time, however you have just re-awoken an interest. I'm off to trawl through YouTube etc...

I hope you are feeling better now. Ihave been many times to Fontainebleau with my parents. Before we used to go to the castle we stopped in the forest to have a picnic.
