As you all know I have a huge passion for France, but I have had several wonderful holidays in England and one little town that is placed firmly in my memory is Castle Coombe. It was recommended to us to visit by the bar attendant in a local hotel and he said...(in that wonderful English accent)... that it is 'the prettiest town in all of England'.
He wasn't too far wrong!

Stunning! I love that last pic, it reminds of Toad Hall from Wind in the Willows!
I didn't get to see this beautiful village, but how lovely! so is the book Wind in the Willows! I think there is a miniature stone village called Bourton-on-the-Water, in England. Now there's a dream.Terryx
Beautiful, I love the white house in the last pic, could live there easily :)
It sure is pretty Linda, and Ira, like me,you are a woman of modest tastes :DD

Oh, I think that should be your next project Linda...if anyone could build it and make it look as spectacular as the real thing you could!

Hello
I have just stumbled across you lovely blog. Great pictures of Castle Coombe. I am lucky enough to live within reasonable driving distance. It is a beautiful place. I have lived in France for 10 years but live in the South West of England now. I love living here. My parents live in France so I get to go there a few times a year. Both countries are plenty to offer.
Have a lovely weekend
Warm wishes

Fabulous photos, just like a fairy tale. I thought visiting England was like going back to another time. Canada is so modern and were I live nothing is older than 150 years. Wonderful to see you photos.
Bonjour Linda :) ! Thanks to have visiting "l'atelier flont"
I am delighted to discover your blog too, everything is so charming!!!
Isn't it funny we find good information from our bartenders.
And, this is good information. Thank you for making me smile.
