Astier de Villatte
I walked past this gorgeous little shop many times before I got up enough courage to go in and ask if I could take some photos....as you can see, they said yes!! This shop sells the most wonderful while ceramic tableware ....I was in heaven!! The shop itself is so quaint (& old), as I walked to the rear of the store the floor boards moved under my feet and the most wonderful (tiny) spiral staircases led to destinations unknown. I personally think this little shop is a must to visit when in Paris, even if only to gaze longingly through the window....but of course why not go in! No, I didn't buy a piece....maybe next time?
Am I aloud to say that I love the top photo....I actually took this from the street as I scurried past one day...."click & run"....but I think it is beautiful, pink peonies in a white jug....is there anything nicer???

Yes I think the top photo is the nicest too, the flowers just add that little extra, je ne sais quoi.
Oooooh I would have loved to see that shop. With that staircase and creaky old floors.
I think if i had to choose... I would have come home with Elisabeth Causeret white china from SIMP too. ;-)
Thanks Margaret!
Catherine, I thought how much fun it would be to make this shop in miniature using Elisabeth's wonderful pieces. Elisabeth has also makes in 24th scale....joy!!!
I would love to find shops like this when I go next time. Thanks for the info. Fiona
....my pleasure Fiona....
Oh good! I would love to see you make that Linda. Not that you need another project at this moment. LOL
At first I thought it was miniature and wondered how the porcelain could be made so finely...I love the way the dessert plates are piled up, looking like bracelets rings! certainly a place to visit and also to copy in miniature methinks!x
I love that store with all the white dishware.
Thanks for the pictures, that makes us travel to wonderful city that is Paris
Shops like that are just so inspirational... and sometimes i would just love the buy everything. Some shops are like a fairytale so beautiful with little surprises just in a corner.. I just love them.
Miniature greetings
I love the photo with all the glasses in the cabinet as I've just started collecting vintage wine and cocktail glasses.
Hello Linda,

Big hug,
Giac
Hi Linda,
I too would have felt like I was in heaven, I have a thing for stacked white ceramics, not only do they look gorgeous but they hold the promise of beautifully set tables and delicious meals to come.
Well done on asking to take photos, I'm so glad you did as this shop is not to be missed. That top photo is shear perfection!

I will consider the social, economic and political factors of Astier De Villatte. Advancments in Astier De Villatte can be linked to many areas. While it has been acknowledged that it has an important part to play in the development of man, it is impossible to overestimate its impact on modern thought. Crossing many cultural barriers it still draws remarks such as 'I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole' and 'i'd rather eat wasps' from the upper echelons of progressive service sector organisations, many of whom blame the influence of television.
