In the Garden....

....this is my garden....well it once was....We sold our farm and now my garden belongs to some-one else. But while it was mine I had a lot of fun in it. We bought our farm, large patch of dirt really, with no house and no garden. While my husband turned the patch of dirt into a farm, I turned the house he built me into a home and the area surrounding into a lovely garden. The garden was home to over 300 rose, mostly David Austin's and when they were in bloom it was a sight to behold.
The farm (or farmer) produced potatoes, carrots, peas, broccoli, poppies.....etc..etc..
I miss my garden.....but perhaps not all the work that goes into making it a beautiful garden!!

How could you stand of selling it? I understand that it was a lot of works but it looks like a patch of Heaven. It is as exquisite as anything you do. You make me feel very humble and yet very happy that I have virtually met you.

Oh dear.....that would be hard to leave. No doubt you have another lovely garden with less work. But those David Austin roses, gorgeous!

I never look back with regret on any property/house/farm etc..that we have bought and sold! I don't have a new garden yet, but we are working on a new project. I firmly believe that when on door closes another opens....!!

Linda, a little patch of heaven here on earth! You really have a green thumb! I have several roses in my garden, but they're not as glorious as yours . . . hopefully one day! Perhaps I need more fertilizer! LOL!!

Hi Linda, I agree with you completely. If you can create that heaven, you can create heaven anywhere right? But I will have loads of problems parting with that. What a glorious way to wake up to every morning, that garden of Eden.

Linda,
The only shops I know of in NYC are Tiny Dollhouse 314 E. 78th St. NYC 10021 - phone - 212-744-3719

and
The Manhattan Dollhouse Shop which is now inside of FAO Schwarz Toys - Their phone number is 1-888-646-1976

Tiny Dollhouse looks to be rather high end, but wonderful. Both places have web sites and you can google them to get the web address. Hope this helps!

Beautiful! And such a view makes it even more perfect.
I love David Austin Roses, have quite a few of them in my garden, although not nearly 300.
Hope you'll be able to garden again soon!

That is a lovely garden. I love roses to. I think you would get a lot of inspiration looking back at your garden. I hope your new garden is going to be just as lovely as this one.

Linda, That garden is spectacular; the roses out of this world. How gorgeous. It is great that you still have pictures of what you and your husband created in the garden. Now you are creating beautiful things in your dollhouse and many of us are enjoying your work!!

It must have been so wonderful to have all those roses and so much work. Roses do take such special care. Spectacular photos, your garden was lovely. I've been spending so much time in our garden, I've fallen in love with sedums, and other miniature ground covers. I really find it hard to be inside this time of year, I know it must be colder for you now. It is so nice you can express your love for flowers in your miniatures.

Mini Hugs, Jean

I don't know how you parted with it. We try every summer to stay ahead of the weeds, briars and poison ivy on our farm and plant new beds while maintaining the existing ones. These pix are beautiful.
