Yes!....I love this....

....this wonderful little decanter and (two) glasses is my latest purchase. I always find it a bit 'nerve racking' when buying on line, as I am unashamedly very fussy with my miniatures and it is difficult to know if the scale is going to be 'perfect'. But I certainly hit the 'jackpot' with these pieces. This little decanter is a delight, it has its own perfect little removable stopper and it looks lovely in the 'petite maison'.
I followed instructions from Synnove as to how to fill the decanter and glasses with liquid and I am pleased to say....."very happy with the results"........What did I fill it with I hear you say?? If you promise not to tell him....I used my husbands "Penfolds Grandfather Port"....nothing but the best!!!!
....I say it is 'nerve racking' to buy on-line, but I have never recieved a piece I didn't like....

Very pretty! Who made it?
I must say a rarely shop online unless I know the products, just for the reason you mentioned! I'd rather see the items in real life. In your case though I can understand that is a bit difficult most of the time.

I am the same with buying online.....I have had some real mishaps with glassware.

These are gorgeous though.

Beautiful, and the real port makes it so realistic! I would also like to know where you found it. :-)

They are so pretty and just perfect!!! I love how they look filled.

I have been looking very hard to find some wine glasses online. It is a bit of a risk. This time it was one well taken. Congratulations!

Beautiful pieces...and look verry like some that I have from Ferenc Albert. But I doubt he is still making such things...he was quite elderly when I bought my things years ago. So who is the glass maker? May we know?

Tabitha

Linda Carswell said...

Information as requested...the artist of the decanter is: Albert Ference.

Ah..I knew I recognized the work if IGMA Fellow Ferenc J. Albert. Last I saw him (and that was years ago) he was recovering from a stroke, I think, but still blowing glass beautifully...

His work is exquisite.

Ahhh, I thought it might be Ferenc Albert! The only other person I could think of that does such beautiful work is Gerd Felka. I have a few of his pieces that I got from him personally in Chicago. What excitement! I wish I could go this year. If you want, you can see Gerd Felka's site at http://www.miniglass.de/indexenglisch.htm

Lovely! Fell in love with one of his decanters years ago, and I've always regretted that I let it get away. I'm curious about how you filled the decanter.

I fill my bottles with a hypodermic syringe. I can't think of any other way to do it.

What a beautiful buy ! It's just perfect. Even if it can make you nervous to buy online sometimes you can't do otherwise. For example in France we don't have many shops selling miniatures, apart from Paris.
I am glad you haven't been disappointed with your buys.

Beautiful set Linda. And you know that Port wine is from Portugal? My country. :)
I live in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, but Oporto is the 2nd city of Portugal and is very beautiful.

I mean:
The original Port wine is from the city of Oporto in Portugal.
It is produced in other countries, but the original is Portuguese:)

All Portuguese homes has a bottle of Port wine.
