Welcome to the 'salon'. This is the final room I have been working on, so now that the festoons are made and the curtains are hung, this little room is now complete.
For this room I made the wall panelling and the biggest challenge of all was the Parque floor. The furniture was made from kits, all the seating was purchased furniture that I have reworked and recovered. The mantel piece I bought in Paris, I repainted this and 'aged' it a little. The statues on the mantel are hand painted and the room contains some lovely pieces bought from miniature artists world wide.
I hope you enjoy viewing this room as much as I enjoyed making it.

I love to see your photos from a distance too, seeing everything in the 'salon'. Every detail is so perfect. Really like the figurines too.
When I say PERFECTLY lovely Linda, I don't mean it as simply an 'expression' I mean it literally. Petite Maison is always a delight to the eye.
I haven't commented on the two previous posts, a bit time and energy challenged at the moment, but I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing them just the same.
I do hope that someone will take up Petite Maison as a subject for publication as she deserves to be appreciated more widely (altho 400+ followers is pretty wide in its own way!).
I hope there are a few more 'Parts' to come ...
I couldn't agree more Norma! the Petite Maison would make a wonderful book- the house and the contents within, not to mention the the story of how every work of art unfolded. And, another thing - what about the shopping trips and visits to Paris! TerryX
The Petite Maison is beautiful!! I can't wait to see more pictures. Alot of love went into this building and it shows! Teresa
The photo with the sun light is such a great picture! Beautiful salon!
It's a beautiful salon, like in a castle. I like a lot the panneling and the floor. Everything is perfect and superb.

This room is beautiful, like the rest of the house. I agree with the other comments, it would be nice to see a book about this house (and the techniques you used).

A beautiful room with absolute attention to detail. You have done yourself proud!
If only I could turn really small and have a walk around the house. I would enjoy all the details closely, have a taste of the lovely cakes and maybe grap one of the books and start ready.
You have made a beautiful treasure which you will be able to enjoy for years.
Thank you for showing us.
You said that you have been in dollhouse shops in Paris, where about in Paris are they? Do you remember the street names, perhaps? it would be so nice if you would remember because i am going to france also and want to go to the best shops!!;);)
thank you!
How charming -the entire house is perfection!
Have you been to the doll house museum in Ca? They have a great replica of Versailles.I think it is called Angles in the Attic
Anyway thanks for the pretty photos. I want to eat a cake that makes me tiny to fit into the house!
Stunning Linda...just stunning. It really does deserve a book...it absolutely equals houses I've seen over here in museums.
I love how you get the photos just right. The lighting in the one with the chair and easel is perfection.
And the one with the piano...it looks as thought the curtains are softly swaying in the breeze.
Now this is done...or as done as any dollhouse is do you plan on another ?
The Petite Maison is beyond beautiful! It is truly a one of a kind piece of art and every detail reflects the talent of it's creator.
I would love to see a book come out of this work!
A beautiful room! This house is such a labor of love and it shows in all the details, flooring, everything! I have loved the last posts where we are rediscovering details, special pieces... Such a lovely lovely house!
