For Julie....

I received an absolutely beautiful email from Julie of Washington. I won't tell you the content of the email, but Julie did say how she loved the shop fronts in France and England, so while I had been meaning to do a post including some of these photos I thought it was now the opportune time.
I hope you all...(as well as Julie)...enjoy this amazing array of shop fronts that Paris has to offer....don't you just 'love' all the fabulous colours that are used....the French certainly aren't shy about their choice of colours.

They are all great but the last one is my favorite. I think it would be fun to reproduce those wood windows in miniature.

I wonder if you took any photos of architecture in Paris. I would love to see them. If I ever do a French shop front it would be in that style.

Thank you for the gorgeous pictures.

They're gorgeous Linda, my favourite is the 3 little pigs, "Emily" might have to get some cascading greenery going on and there is a rumour she might be going to repaint the shop front, but of course these matters are not to be rushed into ;)

Well, this certainly brings back lovely memories ... I used to wander around the neighbourhood for hours, just for the pleasure of peeking into little shops like these ... occassionaly slipping inside and coming out with some wonderful bit of something, or a box of chocolates wrapped up so simply, yet so elegantly I would sometimes wait days to unwrap them. Let's see ... plain white paper pleated to perfection, tied up with thin red ribbon and finished with a gold seal. Divine! Your photos are wonderful, as always ... and so very appreciated! I'm choosing 'Aux Trois Petits Cochons as well ...

Oh they make me miss Paris so much. I love the bright green one so fresh looking. Style is in everything in Paris--even bandaids I bought there on the box says for stylish covering of wound!

I'd much rather build and decorate miniature "shops" that a dollhouse or roombox. Thanks so much for some inspiring designs for miniature shop fronts.

Hallo Linda,

Brigitte

What beautiful shop fronts. OMG american malls are ugly things..they totally take the whimsy out of a shop front..too much glass, too many mirrored surfaces, too much plastic..the modern mega-retail mammoths have made the world a MUCH uglier place. But what else is new? *sigh*

J'adore the storefronts. I think that chartreuse one might be near the Pompidou?? :) I love them all.
