...that's my girl....

This is our daughter Kendall, I hope she hasn't set her sights to high, but I've been asured she was just letting the President know that she was in New York doing her 'bit' for the American economy...

This is a huge...huge flag on the New York Stock Exchange...it's really hard from a photo to imagine just how big it really is....not sure why, but I love this photo...

...and then there's the wonderful iconic Flatiron Building in New York....amazing!!

....and best of all..... we took a ride in a horse drawn carriage through Central Park. It is so hard to believe that you are in the middle of such a huge city. The park was amazing, so many different things on offer in so many different areas. It certainly is a "must-do" when in New York!!!
....just having 'flash backs' to New York, thought I would share a few more images with you!!

New York City....

Yes, this is in New York, although you could be excused if you thought they were more images of France!! I do tend to lean towards the Parisian style of architecture no matter where I am....or is it that the French have such an influence further afield.
The second photo is an apartment building, built by a wealthy French gentleman, the story goes that he actually had his own private farm on the large roof top balcony...yes, cows, sheep, chickens etc.etc...or did I just get too much sun that day???...it sounded a bit far fetched to me!!
The last photo was taken in Central Park, which I just adored...it was so hard to believe that you could be in such a 'huge' park which is in the middle of such a busy vibrant city....amazing!!

"Tiny Doll House"

As any good miniaturist does when in a new city, you track down a 'dollhouse shop'. This I have to say was done with the help of Claudia, who so kindly told me about this shop prior to my visit to New York. A big thank you Claudia, it is a lovely shop, in a beautiful area of New York!

And of course when you track down these shops you are then compelled to make a purchase!! I have been on the look out for some lovely wine glasses for my petite maison, so when I saw this lovely hand made crystal set of four glasses, I knew they were for me. (I could have purchased a 'real' set for the price I paid...but, this is a 'real' set...right??)

Then of course, when I saw this amazing little silver T-pot....well, that was a must have too, I'm sure you all understand how it is!!! (and yes, I could have almost had the real thing there again!!)
Here I have just photographed 3 of the wine glasses along with some wine bottles, this picture shows the clarity of the crystal better than the previous photo, but the previous shows the wine glasses with the New York sky line behind. I loved the little shop and trying to choose what to buy was rather difficult as there were some beautiful pieces....so I can highly recommend a visit if you find yourself in New York.

...once again, thank you Claudia!!!

New York here I come....

Yes....the bags are packed and we are off to New York!! We shall be in New York for what hopes to be 10 wonderful days. I have never been to America before, so I am very excited!
I (of course) have two miniature shops on the very long 'must-do list'.....as well as all the usual attractions that one has to see and do. So needless to say, I shall be away from my blog for a while...(missing you all already) but I shall be back with lots of photos and hopefully some exciting 'posts'.
....now, if there is anything I need to know before I go, please let me know!
