Le hall d'entree est fini....

...yes, the 'entrance hall' of the Petite Maison is now finished!!!
I shall run through quicky the making of this room for those who may have not been with us from the very beginning.
The staircase at the rear of the hall is made from a kit, originally it was a straight stair case which I re-worked so that it has a return....I think this makes it look a little more interesting...?

All the furniture (except for the chair & stool) are made from kits.... Since christmas I have been making 'aubusson rugs' ....I like the little bit of added colour!

I made the floor tiles from 'stripwood', each tile is cut, sanded, painted, sanded again & then glued into place....it is very time consuming, but this is the type of work I love the best! The daffodils & the christmas lillie are made from Bonnie Lavish kits.

....I don't plan to dress this window, I like the fact that when ever I close this window, the very next time I look it is open....?, plus I love the glimps of the exterior iron work.

....this corner cupcoard hold some lovey pieces made by the very talented Margaret Crosswell.

....& the little french shopping basket was made here in Tasmania, I have filled it with market shopping & my favorite magazine....
This was the first room I started, so needless to say it is the first room that I can now say is completed....!! I enjoyed working on this room & I hope this is refected in the photos.

Like all of the rooms you make, this one is beautiful again. All of those little touches like pillows, paintings, and flowers give it just that little bit of colour to make it warm and inviting.
Where is the front door situated? I can't figure it out.

Linda, I must say I really enjoyed your pictures and the tour. You must tell me how you take such fabulous pictures of interiors. I have enlarged each one and they are all great, every detail, every piece. What a clever way to show off that orange too.

I agree with Rosanna on your choice of the rug. And that window is already quite perfectly dressed as far as I am concerned with the wrought iron.

I could not resist it anymore and bought a copy of My French Life because the sale was on again :). I can see why it's your fav.

Bonjour Linda,
The final result is gorgeous, the floor looks so good in the soft grey squares. All the little details make it perfect, like the orange and the Victoria magazine spilling out of the wicker bag.

Linda, when I first started 'visiting' your blog, I can remember what an impression one of your earlier posts made on me, where you said how you mark everything on graph paper.. it is all in the planning.

Well, it has paid off! You did your planning well and I can see that you expected the best... even from yourself.

Everything is perfect!

It's just perfect and beautiful. The carpet goes so well in the hall, I like the detail of the basket with the shopping. The open window is fantastic,a typical French window. I wish I had such windows in my dollshouse. Everything looks so real.

It looks wonderful! I can`t imagine how much time you must have spent doing the floor, but it turned out so beautiful! The stairs also look great, and it adds an interesting depth to the room, it makes me want to go back there and find out what more there is to see. Every detail in the room is perfect, you can certainly be very proud of this work :-)

If I happen to your blog by chance, and did not know that your house is in miniature, I would say certainly that would be a wonderful place to live ... but I can not make me tiny little girl and I can not enter, walk on that beautiful carpet, (here is much better!) lay on the floor my shopping bag and sit on that chair .... sin!
Everything is perfect! pillows, the statuettes in the cabinet 's corner, the lamps, lilies ... window!
my compliments, I am amazed! The house is beautiful for what I could see, you were amazing and you have a great taste!
ciao!! Caterina
