a new purchase....

While anything (and everything) 'miniature' related moves at a snails pace here.....I do try and find time for the occasional (on-line) purchase. This Etsy buy is from "MundoMini" (a Spanish site).......I adored her 'Vintage look trunk'.  Nyork has covered the trunk in a linen (type) fabric and has aged it to perfection, as it is non-opening I think it will be used more as a coffee style table in one of my upstairs room at Sous le Figuier.....but only time will tell.
For the purpose of the photo I decorated the trunk with lovely pottery pieces by Elisabeth Causeret and pretty daisies which are a Pascale Garnier kit.....(still without their leaves!).
Hope you are doing better than me at finding time for your miniatures!!!!

It is a wonderful trunk. Perfectly scaled right down to the leather straps and buckles. It looks like it has made several trips around the world. :-) It will make a great coffee table.

Imagine getting to travel with trunks. Those things weighed almost as much empty as what we are allowed to carry packed now. It brings the image of one of the first scenes in the movie Titanic to mind. What a luxury to let all the carrying and so forth to porters.

Un baúl con un diseño muy original, y efecto muy real. NYork es una artesana muy cuidadosa. Muy buena idea usarlo como mesa.Felicitaciones por la compra. Mariajo

The trunk is lovely. As is Elisabeth's pottery and the flowers. I like the look of trunks as tables, in my RL living room I use a trunk as a coffee table too.
I just ordered some of the white pottery from Elisabeth to pick up in London next month. I'm so lucky to be able to visit some of these shows each year! I can't imagine having to order everything via internet, although it is really good that we can these days.

Hello Linda,
What a terrific purchase. the chest really is beautiful and I love the pottery. It looks very elegant but not too showy. Excellent purchases. Do not feel bad, sadly it is often hard to find time for minis.
big hug,
Giac

I don't think any of us will ever have 'enough' time to do our miniatures. I certainly struggle for time but as long as we do a bit now and then we are still moving forward (albeit slowly). I love the trunk and it looks fabulous with the white pottery on it. Great purchase.

This is a beautiful purchase. I'm going to click on the link to the Etsy shop. The white pottery by Elisabeth is very chic in its simplicity.

Hi Linda! I love the mix of textures with the ruggedness of trunk and the smooth glossy texture of the white pottery! I think that the subtly of colors is lovely and very refreshing. The daisies are the perfect finishing touch, aren't they?
